The Dark Ardent™, a fresh take and Vader's Vault spin on traditional design themes. Our first true "Thin Neck" Combat Class saber, we took extra care that while giving the look, balance and feel of the thin neck, we didn't sacrifice the duel worthy durability of the Combat Class. Meant for the active saberist, this saber is balanced and comfortable, melding with the wielder's hand like it was meant for them since birth. This version is the darker and more corrupted side of a traditional saber. The emitter is packed with detail, from the elegant rounded rings at the crown, to the 4 sets of light emitting 'gill slits' in the center. The engraved detail around the switch area offers an asymmetrical catch for the eye. Just enough to give the area some contrast. The middle v-grooved grip provides a non-slip surface in a traditional fashion. The rear, vertically milled 'booster' section offers an off-set to the v-grooved grip. The pommel stands out as a very familiar power cell design with raised cubes, but in a non obtrusive, unique placement, complete with wide sound vents for great volume and resonance control. This entire saber screams elegance, and power. Get yours today!

I still consider myself new to the lightsaber scene. I own two Saberforge and have a custom built lightsaber commissioned with someone else. At first I was looking through the hilts and kind of thought of them as generic and then I finally broke down and purchased one of VV's Plectar Pixel Dark Ardent setup, with the three accent LED setup.
My reaction? I am absolutely in love with it. The balance is perfect, the weight is perfect the volume of the saber is LOUD. Add that to the outstanding effects of the Plectar Pixel and you have the perfect saber. I would GLADLY buy more but am on a self imposed buying freeze after spending almost $4k on sabers in the last year lol

I was originally not an Ardent fan, but the Dark Ardent in Red called to me. Once I added weathering, the grenade-grip mlling, and the three-LED setup, I saw the potential and I was not disappointed!
I own three VV sabers - Havoc, Tempest, and this. I love each of them, but the Ardent provides two things the others do not: 1) It looks the "meanest" of the three, due to the dark finish and grenade-grip billing, and 2) it's the heaviest - I mean that in relation to the others. I love the weight, but it still benefits from light weight of all VV hilts I've handled.
It feels wonderful to wield! The grenade-grip is comfortable and it has that weapon-grade slimness common to VV.
I've never had any issues with sound quality, loudness, or blade brightness with any VV hilt, and the trend continues here. I bring the damn thing to work almost every day.

I was super excited when this finally arrived at my door. About 4.5 months to delivery for mine which was slightly sooner than I was expecting. Pulled it out of it's packaging and it worked perfectly from the start. Being that this is my first quality light saber, I used the video instruction on the website to familiarise myself with all the features. Well done, Vader's Vault.
I chose the Dark Ardent with switchable color option. The colors are very bright and true along the entire blade. The sound is impressively loud. I wish there was a way to turn off the initial start up sound though (I found that if I simply put the pommel of the sword against my body at power up, it will dampen the sound enough). I cycled through the 3 banks of pre loaded sounds and found the one I like best.
The quality of the sword is amazingly well done. The weight is comfortable. All the lights and extra cut outs look fantastic. Nothing feels cheap about it.
I took me saber to my work the next day and I think I may have generated a couple more sales for VV. Everyone had to take a turn swinging it round. We're all just kids at heart.

Amazing colors and sound, great craftsmanship and totally worth the wait of 5 months. I haven't had the opportunity to learn many single-handed sword techniques to really assess its abilities but it is fairly lightweight and seems well-balanced. It was smaller than I'd imagined but fits the hand better than Saberforge or Ultrasabers. I'm wishing I had ordered two with a staff coupler because I imagine spinning would be a breeze. My Saberforge staff saber has sharp edges that cut my hands -- I have to wear gloves. The Ultrasaber staff has a quick release coupler that sometimes comes apart while spinning, not a very attractive feature when you're trying to take out a Sith Lord.

I received my Dark Ardent 20 weeks after ordering. It was well worth the wait. I had my name engraved in Aurebesh and it is just awesome all around. I already dueled with my 7 year old and has help up nicely. The grip is great for true combat, the sound is amazing from that tiny speaker, the features are incredible. I will certainly recommend this product and this Saber Smith to all who are looking for a Saber that is functional, sleek, original and well built. Huge kudos to all at Vader's Vault!!!! Will definitely do business with VV again!!

The detail on the hilt is just amazing. Electronics seem sturdy and sound is SO incredibly loud.
RGB is also really bright and looks great with the included blade.
I love the flickering, flash on clash, and just options of colours to choose from.
Comparing to the Heavy grade blade I have had with a competitor it is definitely way nicer.
Got the ready to ship version and it was sent really promptly. Only fault I can say is that USPS does not handle customs very well, and used my national post service when arriving which delayed arrival (frustrating but acceptable!). Definitely would rather get a courier company for international deliveries to make customs nicer. Also forgot that I had to pay extra duty / tax when it arrived so just remember if overseas to keep that in mind!

The Dark Ardent is perfection. Beautifully crafted, and amazingly detailed. Not much more to say beyond that!

Like the webpage stated, it is anywhere from 28-32 weeks after you first put in your order. It is definitely worth the wait, i got most of the bells and whistles and it came just shy of 27 weeks. Feel, look and options are outstanding. Definitely fun to play with in the yard on a warm spring/summer night. It is bright!
